Professor Pip and the Day-Night Mystery

One sunny morning, Professor Pip set up a globe and a flashlight on a table outside. "Today, we’re going to learn why we have day and night," he announced with a smile.
He pointed to the globe, which was a small model of Earth. "This globe is just like our planet," Professor Pip explained, turning it slowly.
Professor Pip turned on the flashlight and aimed the beam at the globe. "Imagine this light is the sun, shining bright and warm," he said, making the light dance across the surface of the globe.
As he spun the globe gently, one side was always in the light, and the other was in shadow. "When the sun shines on one part of the Earth, it's day there," Professor Pip pointed out.
He then moved the globe so the light only hit half of it. "And when the Earth spins, the part without sunlight has night," he continued, showing the dark side.
"Every part of the Earth gets a turn to see the sun and then to rest in the night," Professor Pip explained, spinning the globe a full rotation. "That’s why it's light during the day and dark at night."
He asked, "What do you think happens when the Earth keeps spinning?" "It means we get a new day after every night!" a little girl shouted excitedly.
Professor Pip nodded, pleased. "Exactly! And that’s how we get morning, noon, evening, and night," he said, making the globe complete several rotations.
"Remember, the Earth never stops spinning, just like this globe," Professor Pip concluded, giving the globe one last spin. "And that's why, after every night, we get another bright and sunny day!"
Professor Pip turned off the flashlight and the children clapped, happy to understand the mystery of day and night. As the shadows grew longer, they all felt a little wiser about the wonderful world they lived in.
